Should you buy the 5th generation of iPad Air?

My answer is — it depends. If you rely on the latest technologies, I do not think there is anything else than GPU power that it can offer you. If you are not a gamer, the previous generation will be more than enough for you.

Let’s start with a simple comparison of iPads. I will use the direct comparison tool on Apple’s official website.

Apple Design Variants (Apple.com)

I will consider only the ~11" variants. Both 5th generation iPads offer Apple silicon in the M1 version. I don’t believe that there will be someone who will go for the 2TB version. Which means that you will get 8GB of RAM. The “old” iPad Air combines an A14 Bionic chip with a neural engine, which is comparable to the M1 chip in its computing power. The only real benefit you will find on the latest iPad will be a dedicated GPU. Is it worth it when you do not play games on your iPad?

Why do they add back cameras to tablets?!

Apple serves as benefit back cameras… but is it beneficial? If you have the original apple case, you will cover the camera when you fully open it and want to hold it conveniently. Where is the benefit of back cameras now? The Pro version offers…
